How Chiropractic Helps – What Research Says

The most comprehensive research review of how chiropractic helps included assessment of over 70,000 patient visits per month, during the time frame of 1999 to 2005.  The review was carried out by a medical doctor and two chiropractic physicians and published in an independent, peer-reviewed (gold standard of research) journal.

They compiled random patient surveys, along with independent physician association-incurred claims, and then analyzed them for clinical utilization, costs, and member satisfaction.

What they uncovered regarding how chiropractic helps is extraordinary.

When comparing patients with a medical doctor as a primary care physician (PCP) to patients with a chiropractor as a PCP, those patients with a chiropractor as a PCP reported:

  • 60.2% decrease for in-hospital admissions,
  • 59% decrease for hospital days,
  • 62% decrease for outpatient surgeries and procedures, and
  • 85% decrease in pharmaceutical costs.

While all published research includes the disclaimer that additional assessment is recommended going forward, the results of this review provide a clear outline that people have better health outcome when they see a chiropractor regularly.  This is how chiropractic helps you be healthier!
