Vital Life Chiropractic & Wellness is a wellness-based, tonal chiropractic practice that believes a healthy nervous system leads to a healthier body, as well as healthier beliefs and behaviors.
In the simplest of terms, the nervous system (nerves, brain, and spinal cord) controls and coordinates everything in your body, from the tiniest cells to the highest functions like digestion, hormones, and even thinking. When the nerve energy flows abundantly, without obstruction, the body and mind are 100% self-communicating, self-healing, and robust. When nerve flow is impaired, a person no longer functions at 100%. As you can imagine, this compromises your health and vitality.
Dr. Kalaba offers a gentle, light force, chiropractic adjustment with the aim to reestablish clear communication between the nervous system and the rest of the body. This helps facilitate healing, allowing the body to express higher levels of health, with the possibility of impacting life on all levels.
The body is in the optimal position to return to normal, healthy function given proper nerve flow (nervous system communication), movement, and nutrition. As such, Vital Life Chiropractic & Wellness offers the following services:
- Subluxation-based chiropractic care to support optimal nervous system communication
- Gentle stretches and exercises to improve spinal motion and stability
- Instrument-assisted myofascial release
- Nutrition modification to reduce inflammation and maximize beneficial nutrients
- Lifestyle consulting to address mental and emotional sources of stress
For chiropractic care, an office visit consists of 30 minutes with the Doctor, including nervous system analysis and adjustments, extremity adjusting, and/or ancillary therapeutic procedures.

Chiropractic recognizes that there are many factors that influence health, such as physical, chemical, and emotional stresses–work, diet, exercise, sleep, posture, heredity, and epigenetic expression. Dr. Kalaba employs natural, drugless, and non-surgical recommendations during the course of care, with the goal to improve the quality of life of her patients.
First, I have had my own pretty miraculous healing journey. Not only have I had 2 severely herniated discs since my early 20s, I have also been managing chronic Epstein Barr virus for over 20 years. Like many of you, I have been told it’s all in my head.
I found chiropractic and within just a few weeks, I began to heal. Along with that, I started sleeping better, my allergies became less and less. I was even able to manage stress better, having fewer and eventually no panic attacks. More importantly, I realized that healing happened from the inside. I didn’t choose chiropractic for what it did for my back. I chose chiropractic for what it did for my being.
This is one reason I’m so passionate about natural health and have been for over 20 years. I’m on a mission to help transform the lives of my practice members, using improved health as a catalyst so they can then go out into the world and do something they never thought possible.
On top of this, I have used ketogenic eating to lose 140lbs over the last 5+ years! So, I really do understand what patients are going through and how to help them.
We can’t be our best selves and maximize our impact in our lives, with our families, on the job, or out in the world when we are experiencing chronic inflammation, fatigue, and dis-ease. Therefore, our health should be our #1 priority.
For someone who is experiencing these challenges, moving yourself and your health to the top of your to-do-list is very powerful and is often the catalyst to creating a transformational life experience.

This type of wellness Chiropractic is NOT for those:
- Who are in search of the quickest way to fix their problems

- Who only want care if their insurance covers it
- Who are looking for the cheapest alternatives that will fix them
- Who simply want a snap, crack, and pop so that they feel better in the moment
If you are looking for a health care advisor and these principles are important to you, then Dr. Kalaba can’t wait to meet you! You’ll likely find what you’re looking for at Vital Life Chiropractic & Wellness.
What to Expect At Your Exam
In order to ensure the most beneficial wellness recommendations and care plan are developed by Dr. Kalaba, your full chiropractic and wellness assessment will occur over 2 sessions. On the first visit, you will have an in-depth discussion with the Doctor to document your wellness goals. Then, the Doctor will perform a comprehensive chiropractic physical exam.
To end your first meeting, the Doctor will check for nervous system subluxations, which are interferences to the messages that flow between the body and the nervous system. When subluxations are present, the body functions at less than its optimum level. It is the adjustment of these subluxations that is the primary goal of chiropractic so that the body can function at the highest level of health possible. Dr. Kalaba will then deliver your first gentle chiropractic adjustment and soft tissue release, if needed, based on her findings.
If clinically indicated, you will be referred to Radiology, LTD, for x-rays in lieu of a first adjustment or prior to your second visit.
On your return visit, the Doctor will present a detailed wellness plan based on your goals for care and the Doctor’s recommendations (including chiropractic care, nutrition, exercise, and supplementation, etc.) Then, you will decide how you wish to proceed with your care, and you will receive your second chiropractic adjustment.
Vital Life Chiropractic & Wellness is a cash-only provider.
Chiropractic Techniques and Models
Chiropractic techniques fit into 3 basic models based on the three body systems primarily addressed by practitioners. All chiropractic care intimately involves itself with the skeletal system, the muscle system, and the nervous system. While all techniques involve all three systems, the models of chiropractic can be differentiated from one another based on their method of assessment and their method of correction.
The model primarily used by Vital Life Chiropractic & Wellness, your Tucson chiropractor, is tonal or nervous system centered. This is not muscle or bone based, but rather focuses on the nervous system and the related changes in a person’s physiology. As such, the tonal chiropractic model looks at the nervous system first, and the doctor’s input into the nervous system affects the muscle system (second) which, in turn, affects the skeletal system (third). Adjustments can be performed by hand or with an instrument, called an Integrator, and are considered “low force” as you will rarely hear any popping or cracking, nor experience any twisting or tension in the spine or muscles.
Dr. Lee Ann provides a thorough evaluation & walks you through the entire process so you know exactly what to expect during your care. This was my first time to a chiropractor & had some anxiety as to what to expect. She’s uses a gentle technique which alleviated any anxiety I had. She was extremely professional & caring as to the issues I was having. Asked lots of questions & was great with my follow up care! Definitely recommend for chiropractic care.
I’ve never been to a Chiro that has taken as thorough of an intake to be sure she understands my body and what I need. I really appreciate her gentle approach and that it works WITH the nervous system, not AT the nervous system! I recommend her to my massage clients who are looking for a chiropractor who isn’t going to simply bring them in, crack them, and send them on their way in 15 minutes or less. Thank you Lee Ann Kalaba for all you do!
I’ve been receiving regular treatments from Dr. Lee Ann for over a year. My initial visits were for help with pain and nutritional therapy, but now I go for maintenance and I’m happy to report she has helped me change my health and my outlook on life. She is a gifted practitioner who works with you to make the necessary changes to improve your overall health. Thank you, Dr. Lee Ann!!
